Custom shower curtains are not so uncommon anymore with the variety of colors, prints and images available. Imagine what will look good in the bathroom, and then try to find it online if not in brick and mortar stores.
Black images on white curtains reflect well if there is a window behind them in the shower. They can be seen easily when the light is on in the bathroom, too, and they are somewhat fascinating. Name the subject, and up pops a curtain idea. Some images are sexy, some are cute and some are even patriotic.

Pictures of books, cultural symbols and animals can be found in completely realistic form rather than abstract shapes. Abstract shapes abound as well, and there really are colors that are not seen often in nature or anywhere else.
Map-lovers rejoice; they're out there. World maps in modern form or vintage, maps of individual American states-touristy or not-and the entire United States, show up online. Large city plats of London, Paris, New York and many others are also on the market. One particularly charming United States map is a black and white outline so that the "states I've visited" can be colored in. Kids will like it and adults who may not admit it will like it, too.
Are there any lighthouse fans out there? There are examples of these from all over the country, if not the world. Just about any water-related image can be found, nautical or natural, homey or sophisticated.

Flags seem to be prevalent: state, city, country and cause-related. There is a Vietnamese rainbow pride flag in the traditional colors, and the same kind from Slovakia, so there isn't going to be a shortage of flags to choose from. This must be a fairly lucrative approach, since many states have rainbow pride flags. Curtains with a geographic shape of a country are colored in with the colors of its flag.
Large cities are represented on custom shower curtains using images of their familiar landmarks. London, Paris and New York seem to be the most easily recognized, with internationally known tourist sites like the Eiffel Tower, Trafalgar Square and the Empire State Building. It is very likely that many other large cities have similar shower curtains with beloved landmarks.

Television and film scenes, logos and stars show up on shower curtains both from inside and outside of Hollywood. It must be very pleasant to walk into the bathroom every morning and see a favorite film star looking back at you.
The entire poem, "The Raven," by Edgar Allan Poe, is printed out across the whole of the shower curtain in one case, possibly to appeal to fans of Poe or poetry. Who knows what other literary examples are splashed across other curtains?

Victorian wallpaper designs, mermaids, large O'Keefe-like flowers, spooky mansions and checkerboard designs are other options for the shower. Sports equipment, scenes of sports events and team logos are not rare, and yes, there is a trout-skin print in natural trout colors; not the whole fish, just the skin. It was surprising to find a poem about bacon, the meat, on one curtain.
